Correcting Misleading Reports on Employee Safety

In the article “40 minutes per shift without protection – this is how employees are expected to work with Senior’s chemicals” (Dagens Arbete, October 4, 2025), an incorrect and misleading description is given of how protective equipment is used in our operations.

The visual inspection mentioned in the article does not take place inside the extraction area, but from an adjacent cleanroom. Cleanroom protective equipment is always used there in accordance with established procedures. However, since there is no risk of exposure in these situations, a gas mask is not required.

During service and maintenance, work is carried out inside the extraction area. In these cases, it is correct that personnel are present in the room – but always with full protective equipment and in compliance with established occupational safety routines.

To claim that employees generally stay in these environments without protective equipment is therefore incorrect. Our occupational safety routines are designed to ensure a safe and secure working environment for all employees, and these are consistently followed.

It is important that an accurate picture is presented, especially in such a central matter as occupational health and safety.
