Next-Generation Green Lithium-Ion Battery Separator and Solid-State Battery Membrane Materials Launched in Sweden

On June 5, 2026, Senior Material (Europe) AB together with Senior Group officially launched their next-generation green lithium-ion battery separator and solid-state battery membrane products at an international industry conference held in Stockholm, Sweden.

Committed to collaborative development across the battery value chain, Senior Europe has leveraged technological innovation to upgrade its liquid-electrolyte separator products through the adoption of a new extraction-solvent process and enhanced high-efficiency recycling technologies. At the same time, the company has proactively expanded into solid-state battery membrane materials. The next-generation green membrane production process is chlorine-free, low-emission, and safer. These products and the associated new manufacturing technologies are being industrialized at Senior Europe’s production base in Sweden.

“This launch demonstrates the importance of bringing together industry, technology, research, and international cooperation to support Europe’s green industrial transformation,” said Cecilia Wallin, Vice President of Senior Europe. “We are proud to continue building long-term industrial development and battery value-chain partnerships in Europe.”

The launch event brought together representatives from the global battery industry value chain from 15 countries and regions, including industry leaders, investors, research institutions, and public sector entities, all of whom witnessed the unveiling of the new products. Participants also engaged in discussions on the future of battery industrialization, electrification, value-chain collaboration, and sustainable development in Europe.

This product launch marks a new milestone for next-generation green lithium-ion battery separators and solid-state battery membrane materials. It represents not only a significant technological innovation and breakthrough for the company, but also a step toward a greener upgrade of the global battery value chain, helping to drive Europe’s and the world’s new energy industries toward a more environmentally friendly, low-carbon, and sustainable future.
